To check if you have these tasks, please use our new task filter described below. We plan to remove the legacy recurring task feature July 2026.

- Privacy module improvements, including AI compliance checks and formal approval of processing activities.
- Integration with Microsoft Purview, Intune en Defender for Cloud.
- Audit module with AI assistance.
Document read confirmations for users
We’re excited to present this new feature that many of you asked. You can now request your colleagues to confirm that they have read important documents. This confirmation is frequently asked by auditors.
This feature is available for Business and Premium subscriptions.
You can create groups of users and make content in the library available for these groups. For each item you can specify whether read confirmation is requested. Users in these groups get an email about it and can navigate to the ISOPlanner dashboard where they can confirm. This can also be done in the Teams Library app. Read confirmation requests are send when a new version of a document is published. This is done automatically after approval but you can publish anytime.
You have full visibility in the statistics per user group, user and document through widgets on the dashboard and an interactive report. By making read confirmations part of the publishing process, you configure it once and the process is run automatically.
We further enhanced many things around the publication process like we combined version history, publications and approvals into 1 comprehensive view which you can export as a report as well. And everything can be done in bulk to minimize manual effort.
Please read all the details on our knowledge base.
More information about the document life cycle in SharePoint can be found here.
Tip: In Microsoft Teams, you can activate our ‘ISOPlanner Library’ app from the Microsoft store for free. All published documents that you assigned to users groups are directly available in this app without searching! And users can confirm directly from within the app.
The privacy module for GDPR compliance is now general available
The Privacy module is now generally available (no preview) for all subscriptions: NIS2, Basic, Business and Premium.
We believe that easy GDPR compliance must be in reach for all organizations. Many of you might register processing activities elsewhere or in Excel. We invite you to check how this new module can be of value for you.
We continue to improve with AI assistance for GDPR compliance and integration into our Approval module. Go to Administration / Settings / Modules and activate the Processing Activities module today!
Annual plan improvements
The annual plan is an important tool to help you manage monitoring of your compliance frameworks. We are continuously improving this feature. In this release we’ve made important changes that improve usability.
1. We’ve made a more clear distinction between the ‘template’ on the left for which you define a recurrence pattern and the tasks in the schedule on the right.
2. We de-activated parts of the template to make it more clear that it is a template. For example you cannot fill in the checklist anymore.
The tasks in the schedule are now synchronized with the template in a more user friendly way. While preserving the unique flexibility like being able to re-schedule individual tasks, template content is seamlessly merged into the tasks when the template changes.
3a. Tags are now shown from the template as read-only. You can still add tags for an individual task.
3b. Task name and description are read-only.
3c. Changes in the checklist items from the template are merged into the tasks. This preserves any items being worked on while adding, removing and ordering others.
3d. Context of the task is made read-only. You can still add more context using a form.
3e. In the library tab of a task, items from the template are shown read-only. You can still add more items. You can also use the ‘Upload evidence’ button at the top to quickly upload multiple files.
4. When the recurrence pattern is changed, the first task that was not yet completed but may be worked on is preserved and moved to the new pattern.
Next release, you can opt-in to automatically create the schedule for the next year about 1 month before your audit year starts.
Ability to upload multiple files as evidence for a task with 1 click
We added a new button which allows you to quickly add evidence to a task. To enable this, go to Categories in the library, select a category of type ‘document library’ and set the system type to ‘Uploaded evidence’. Now this button is available for users to upload evidence directly into this location without first navigating to the Library tab, clicking Add and choosing the category. This is now done with 1 click. And uploading multiple files at once by selecting from a drive and drag/drop is now supported.
Tip: While this feature allows you to select 1 location for evidence, it is also possible to create a Form and assign it to the annual plan template. On this form you can create fields to upload evidence and even specify the folder within a category.
New archived status for processes and objectives
For Processes and Objectives, we added a new status: Archived. This status is meant for items that are not active anymore but important to keep for auditing.
You can change the status in bulk and if you have any archived items, a new button on the toolbar is enabled to quickly show or hide them.
This toolbar button is also implemented for other items that already supported the archived status like assets, risks and tasks.
Improved configuration of asset classifications
First, a short explanation what this is about.
Asset classifications can be propagated to the parent asset. For example, you might have an information asset ‘Customer email addresses’. While this asset can have a classification ‘Confidentiality : High’, it can’t be protected directly. Only the asset where this information is stored can protect it. E.g. encrypt / de-crypt or limit access. That’s why asset classifications can be propagated to the parent asset, for example a database or file storage. Classifications on these parents are automatically calculated as the maximum per classification group: High will win over Low when multiple information assets are stored in a database, for example.
While the above is already implemented for Business and Premium subscriptions, configuring propagation could be made more user friendly. We now have implemented easy buttons in the ‘Container’ view to configure this propagation with 1 click. It is only implemented in the hierarchical Container view because otherwise you cannot ‘see’ where your classifications are going. Please try it out!
New task filter for types of tasks
In all task views, you can now filter on specific types of tasks. Especially in the ‘All tasks & events’ view this can come in handy.
For customers that use legacy recurring tasks, this filter can point them out. If you don’t see the Legacy recurring task option below, you don’t use it. If you need any help migrating to the Annual plan, please contact our Servicedeks.
Ability to reset quick filters
Most views that have a quick filter now also have a button to reset it. A quick filter manages itself by showing the top 5 most used filters. But sometimes you might want to start clean. On the far right of the quick filter, you can find the View button, this menu now shows a ‘Reset quick filter option’.
