How to work with processes and objectives
Overview
Use the Organization menu in ISOPlanner to describe the processes and objectives of your organization.
Processes
Where to find it in ISOPlanner: https://portal.isoplanner.app/organization/processesList your business processes here. For each process you can choose a parent process, creating a hierarchy. One way to organize your processes is by department, like “HR”, “Development” and “Sales”. Examples of processes are:
- New employee onboarding process
- Information security incident process
- Software development process

Properties
For each process, you have the following properties:
- Code (can be defined by the users, not automatically assigned)
- Owner (contact or person responsible for the particular process)
- Group (can be defined as a responsible or contact person for process related topics)
- Shared with (visibility of the process can be defined and limited to a certain (group of) users
- Status (choice of 4 stages of the process available: To do, Designing, Implementing, Implemented)
- Tags (optional to add to make filtering and overview easier)
- Description
- Dashboard (optional to add a widget related to a process, ex KPI´s)
Related information
This pane which can be opened on the right contains more information related to a process.
In the “Context” tab any “Child processes” (if available) will be automatically shown. In this tab, other elements (such as Objectives, Risks, Assets etc.) can be linked to this process. In the “Library” related documents can be linked to the process; for example, a document that describes that particular process.

Tasks & Events
When one process is opened within ISOPlanner, by default it opens in a ‘Details’ tab. There is also a ‘Tasks & Events’ tab where you can create new tasks in the context of this process.
Objectives
Where to find it in ISOPlanner: https://portal.isoplanner.app/organization/objectivesList your organization objectives here. For each objective you can choose a parent objective, creating a hierarchy. Examples of objectives are:
- Achieve a high level of service user satisfaction
- Maintain a high level of system reliability
- Maintain the ability to recover the systems in the event of a disaster

Tasks & Events
When an objective is opened within ISOPlanner, by default it opens in a ‘Details’ tab. There is also a ‘Tasks & Events’ tab where you can create new tasks in the context of this objective.
Related information

In the “Context” tab, related KPIs, processes, controls etc can be linked to this objective. In the “Library” tab related documents can be linked. That may be a document that describes that particular objective.
